Since the spring of 2015, FOCUS emerged as a study association for The Hague University of Applied Sciences (THUAS)’ courses International Business & Management Studies (IBMS) & International Financial Management and Control (IFMC). FOCUS’ activities are organised by the committees and provide an enhanced experience for both the IBMS & IFMC students.

Goals

FOCUS has three goals:

• Intermediates between Companies and Students: with their business partners they provide activities to gain an insight in the business world.
• Connects Theory & Practice: FOCUS provides opportunities for students to get the theory from class closer to the real world.
• Social Activities: fun parties, borrels, and other activities organised by FOCUS bring students together.

Committees 

FOCUS has a couple of committees:

• Excursion committee: provides IBMS and IFMC students with the opportunity to travel abroad to experience first-hand how companies operate in different countries. This will improve cultural awareness and provide a unique business view of countries across the world.
• Event committee: provides IBMS and IFMC students with opportunities to network with companies within The Netherlands and learn more about the business environment within different industries. This will involve organising various events which can be joined during the school year.
• Activity committee: the Activity committee provides IBMS and IFMC students with activities to encourage social interaction and recreation of students both between and within the two courses. This involves the organisation of several parties and borrels during the school year.
• Introduction Days Committee: the Introduction Days committee provides new IBMS and IFMC students with the chance to meet their fellow students and have fun in the process.
