JoHo Membership: Rules & Regulations (EN)

 

Basic rules

  • Every member receives a JoHo number, which you will sometimes be asked for by JoHo & partners of JoHo. The number will be displayed in your MyJoHo userpage
  • There is no age requirement for supporting JoHo or for getting a membership.
  • The membership or support to JoHo is strictly personal. Only you as a member are entitled to the benefits and services of JoHo. It is thus not (temporarily) exchangeable to others.
  • Restitution or partial restitution of the membership contribution is not possible. JoHo will sparcely use your contact details for sharing information with you about your membership and to inform you about (new) products and services of JoHo or one of the partners of JoHo. If you do not wish to receive this information you can let JoHo using the contactform.

Contact

  • Use the contactform to inform JoHo about changes in your personal details (address, bank account, email etc.)

Get involved

  • You can also help JoHo as a volunteer, for instance by promoting JoHo. You can also join the JoHo PR team in your city, donate photo or video material to JoHo World Supporter or help the World Study Bank with JoHo summaries.
  • You can also help JoHo & WorldSupporters by sponsoring a project financially or by going abroad and volunteering at one of the projects.

Join JoHo as a Member

  • Read about joining JoHo & WorldSupporter 
  • Do you want to know what the annual contribution of the subscriptions is, or which subscription you need to make use of service and discounts? Check the subscription advice .
  • Discounts apply (unless stated otherwise) for products and services purchased at the JoHo support centers in the Netherlands, at JoHo's website or at one of JoHo's partners. 
  • You can find the JoHo support centers in Amsterdam, Utrecht, Leiden, Den Haag, and Groningen. The opening hours of the JoHo support centers are indicated on the JoHo website .

Basic rules JoHo members

  • JoHo members make it possible for JoHo to successfully support international projects in terms of development aid, knowledge exchange, and talent development.
  • JoHo members can make use of discounts, choice support, and advice services.
  • JoHo members can apply for a subscription for extra discounts, choice support, and advice services.
  • The annual donation is 5.00 euros. 
  • Your JoHo membership is always continuous until the moment of cancellation.
  • The annual contribution is for the period of one calendar year; from the 1st of January until the 31st of December (regardless of moment of registration). 
  • The conditions and benefits of the JoHo membership can change during the calendar year. Changes and updates are posted on the JoHo website. 

JoHo number

  • You will receive your JoHo number when you register as a JoHo member. Have you lost your number? Log in to your MyJoHo userpage  or ask for it at the counter in one of the JoHo support centers. If you have a membership card, your can find your JoHo number written below the bar code.
  • If you visit one of the JoHo support centers and you want to make use of the services and discounts for JoHo members, but you don't have an online account yet, you are advised to bring any kind of identification. 
  • The JoHo membership is strictly personal. Only you as a member are allowed to use the services and benefits. It is therefore not (temporarily) transferable to third parties.

Cancelling your JoHo membership

  • The JoHo membership can be cancelled at any time.
  • The annual contribution is processed in the period between December and January. If you don't want to extend your membership for the next calendar year, you need to cancel it before the 1st of December of the current calendar year.
  • How to cancel your subcription:
    • fill in the downgrade and cancellation form 
    • Select 'Donateurs + abonnementsbijdrage beëindigen (service-abonnement + donatie stoppen)' to cancel your membership.
    • Your will automatically receive a confirmation of your cancellation request.
  • It is also possible to send a written cancellation to: JoHo, attn. Memberships & Subscriptions, Paviljoensgracht 18, 2512 BP Den Haag. Include your account number from which the annual contribution is debited, and if possible your JoHo number. You will receive a confirmation of your cancellation through email.
  • You receive the JoHo services and discounts until the end of the calendar year (31st of December) in which you request the cancellation.
  • A refund or partial refund of the annual contribution is not possible. 
  • If you have send a cancellation request after the 1st of December, your cancellation will be processed in the next calender year. This means that your subscription will continue for one more year, during which you can still make use of JoHo services and discounts.

Basic rules JoHo subscriptions

  • As a member you can apply for a subscription of 10.00 / 20.00 / 40.00 / 80.00, or 160.00 euros per calendar year.
  • A JoHo subscription is, just as the membership, continuous until the moment of cancellation.
  • The annual contribution for the subscription is for the period of one calendar year, from the 1st of January until the 31st of December (regardless of moment of registration). 
  • The conditions and benefits of the JoHo subscriptions can change during the calendar year. Changes and updates are posted on the JoHo website. 

Changing your subscription

Upgrade: 

  • If you are a JoHo member already and you would like to apply for a subscription or you would like to upgrade your current subscription, you can fill in this form  (in Dutch) or the contactform  (if you have problems filling in the change form in Dutch). It is also possible to upgrade your membership at one of the JoHo support centers. You can directly use your new subscription after upgrading your membership in one of the JoHo support centers or after filling in the upgrade form (subscription I or subscription II). If you send an upgrade request through email or the change form, the upgrade will be processed within one week.
  • The payment of the the upgrade (these are the costs of your new subscription minus the costs of your previous membership or subscription) will be deducted from your bank account through a single withdrawal. With the next extension of your subscription, the full amount of your new subscription will be debited from your account. 
  • Upgrades are always for the current calendar year, regardless of the moment of upgrading. 

Downgrade:

  • If you are a JoHo member already and you would like to downgrade your subscription (for example change from a member with subcription to a member without a subscription or to change from subscription II to subscription I), you can fill in this form  (in Dutch) or the contactform  (if you have problems filling in the change form in Dutch). You can make use of your current subscription, and its services and discounts, until the end of the current calendar year. The new subscription starts on January 1st of the next calendar year. 
  • Make sure that you request a downgrade before the 1st of December. If you have send your downgrade request after the 1st of December, your downgrade will be processed in the next calender year. This means that your current subscription will continue for one more year, and after that year it will be downgraded.
  • JoHo members who cancel their subscription, may use the downgrade service once. This downgrade service means that you can request a refund of your subscription amount of the previous year once, with the condition that you continue to be a JoHo member.

Monthly subscriptions & Subscription benefits that come with your insurance

30-days subscription / monthly subscription

  • Members can make use of the services and discounts of subscription II (discounts and online access, no credits) for a period of 30 (thirty) days. The subscription starts directly after purchasing it (at one of the JoHo support centers) or within 2 working days (when you apply online). 
  • The services and discounts are valid for 30 (thirty) days. The monthly subscription ends automatically. 

Subscription benefits that come with your insurance

  • JoHo members can apply for subscription benefits for free if they have a travel insurance through JoHo.
  • Changes of the services and benefits of the subscription can apply. Changes and updates are posted on the JoHo website. 
  • The benefits will be cancelled when the insurance and/or membership gets cancelled.
  • The membership and insurance must be of the same person and the services and discounts are not transferable to third parties.

Cancelling your JoHo subscription

  • The JoHo subscription can be cancelled at any time.
  • The annual contribution is processed in the period between December and January. If you don't want to extend your subcription for the next calendar year, you need to request the cancellation before the 1st of December of the current calendar year.

INTERNATIONAL DONATION

SMOKEY MEMBERSHIP / NON RECURRING

  • In case of an non-recurring International JoHo membership, the annual contribution is for the period of one calendar year.
  • After that year the membership expires and you will have to repeat the membership procedures.
