Volunteering

• Heart for Change offers volunteer programs for English teachers (see information below). You will receive a monthly stipend of $1'500,000 COP, which will allow you to maintain yourself during your stay. 

Spotlight vacancy: Socially aware English teachers

Location: Colombia

Responsibilities in short

• Contribute to Colombia’s socio-economic development by teaching English to students and their teachers
• Contribute to a better position for the students in the global economy
• Enable personal potential and increase understanding through cultural exchange

Needed competences & other requirements

• A TEFL certificate is highly recommended (you will get a 100 dollar refund by heart for change if you get certified beforehand)
• Starting in January or March - working for five, eight or eleven months
• Experience of having traveled or lived in another country, especially in a Latin American country
• Basic level of Spanish 
• For this position you need to be hardworking, committed, accountable, socially oriented, adaptable, flexible, motivated and able to work independently
• Native English speaker or non-native English speaker with Level C1 certified
• Professional (BS, BA or its equivalent)
• Minimum age 21 years, maximum age 50 years
• Signed Fellowship Agreement
• Biography (a paragraph about yourself) and currículum Vítae
• Mental and physical capacity to teach students and facilitators (both children and adults)
• Maturity, flexibility, accountability and abililty to demonstrate commitment
• Clean criminal record
• 1 Recommendation Letter
